33. Describe the role that expectation and motivation have in perception.
Perception: is the process of allowing us to experience the world around us.
When you look at A, B, C, in the column, you realize that 12,13,14 are in the row. 13 can be perceived as 13 or the letter B. But when you read A,B,C, you do not notice the 13 because you expect it to be a letter B.
Motivation: is the process that initiates, guide and maintains goal-oriented behaviors. Motivation is what causes us to act.
Example- getting a glass of water to reduce thirst or reading a book to gain knowledge.
