25. Describe the therapeutic concepts of therapeutic neutrality, free association, interpretation, and transference.
Therapeutic neutrality- when a therapist only serves as a reflecting board for the patient. The therapist does not judge you or your actions. They practice active listening and often unconditional positive regard.
Free-association- a psychoanalytic therapy method of exploring the unconscious in which the person relaxes, often lying down on a couch, and says whatever comes to mind without any filter. The natural act of editing what you say and showing resistance can provide clues on your relationships.
Interpretation - the analyzing of dreams, resistance, and transference.
Transference-–the process of transferring feelings on has for one person to a different person.
Examples-
